Biography
Roger’s heart was full of and overflowed with love and kindness to all who knew him. To miss someone so much means they were extremely special, and we were all blessed to have him in our lives. He is in our hearts forever, and will always be missed. It hurts to be apart but we will see him again. We are comforted to know he is in heaven, sharing his laughter, gifts, and smiling down on all of us. Roger always said, “All I wanted to be when I grew up was a Daddy and policeman.” He had great pride in being a policeman, it was who he was, and it never stopped running through his blood. Roger was truly a kind soul. He loved fiercely, he was loyal, and he lived by a certain “code”. He always told our children, “Most important thing in this world is your “word”, without that you’re nothing. No matter what you grow up to do, or how much money you make, the only thing that’s important in this world is honestly, loyalty, and integrity.” …and he lived by that. He loved music and loved to sing and dance (He could not dance!). We all could count on him to make us laugh until we cried daily. He was also an amazing storyteller and the kids always begged him to tell them more police stories. Roger had many friends and loved everyone. I teased him often and called him a “social butterfly”. He loved his friends dearly, always cared, and always, always was the first to check in…ask anyone, you could always count on an, “I love you” at the end of the call. Roger left behind his Wife, Tami Sweeten, Daughter, Ashley Sweeten, and Son, Jackson Sweeten.
