Incident
Police Officer Harry Shipley was struck by a vehicle and killed while investigating a traffic violation. Officer Shipley's cousin, Detective Clyde Shipley, was killed in the line of duty on December 26, 1939, while also serving with the Chattanooga Police Department.
Survivors
Officer Shipley was survived by his wife, son, and by his four siblings.
