Incident

Officer Eladio Rivera-Osorio died when he was hit by a car in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The officer and his partner returned to their station on their motorcycles when they both noticed a vehicle stopped in the emergency lane on the De Diego Expressway. They discovered a person was sleeping inside and, while assisting, a drunk driver hit Officer Rivera-Osorio, throwing him several feet away. The officer died at the scene. Officer Eladio Rivera-Osorio served with the Puerto Rico Police Department, and was assigned to the San Juan Tourist Zone.
