Incident

Patrolman Jim Prieto suffered a fatal heart attack while handling a mentally ill patient at the Capitol complex in Harrisburg.

He was transported to the Polyclinic Medical Center, where he passed away.

Patrolman Prieto was a U.S. Army veteran and had served with the Pennsylvania State Capitol Police for 10 years. He had previously served with the Greencastle Police Department.

Survivors

He was survived by his wife, two daughters, son, two grandchildren, and three sisters.
