Patrolman Anthony Hlavaty succumbed to injuries sustained the previous day when his motorcycle struck a streetcar track and crashed at the intersection of Walnut Street and Penny Street.
Patrolman Hlavaty had served with the McKeesport Police Department for 12 years.
