Patrolman Fash on foot patrol near Beach 96th Street and Rockaway Boulevard, Rockaway Beach, Queens when he was electrocuted as he attempted to move a baby carriage from underneath downed electrical wires. .

Patrolman Fash was assigned to the 52nd Precinct, the modern day 100th Precinct.
