Keeper Augustus Wright was struck and killed with an iron bar during an escape attempt at the iron ore processing plant at Clinton State Prison.
Keeper Wright, On today, the 160th anniversary of the your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of the state of New York. There is no tougher job in Law Enforcement than that of a Corrections Officer.
