Detective Harold Marshall suffered a fatal heart attack while chasing a suspect wanted for a narcotics violation. Detective Marshall was a United States Army veteran of World War II and had served with the New York City Housing Authority Police Department for just under ten years. He was assigned to the Detective Squad.
