Incident
Sergeant Donald Conniff succumbed to injuries sustained at approximately 8:50 am on January 1st, 1998, when his vehicle was struck by a drunk driver at the intersection of 2nd Avenue and 4th Street, in Manhattan.
He was en route to City Hall as part of Mayor Rudy Giuliani's inaugural protection detail. The crash caused him to suffer a skull fracture and contusions of the brain. He remained in rehabilitative care until succumbing to his injuries on December 12th, 2015.
