Incident

Undersheriff Keeler was shot and killed by two men he was arresting on a charge of petty theft. Both men were convicted of murder and hanged on February 9, 1923.

Undersheriff Keeler had served with the Treasure County Sheriff's Office for one year and was survived by his wife and two children.
