Incident
Town Marshal Jake Trest was shot and killed with his own service revolver while investigating the burglary and rape of a 69-year-old woman at her home.
The subject attacked Marshal Trest and then fatally shot him in the head twice as he lay on the ground by his patrol car.
Marshal Trest's killer was convicted of murder and subsequently executed in the gas chamber on May 20, 1987.
