Incident
Marshal Lance was shot and killed and Marshal John Taylor was stabbed and critically wounded by two drunk brothers while trying to breakup a disturbance at a dance. As the two ran from the dance Marshal Taylor managed to shoot the suspect who stabbed him in the hip and shoulder. It is not known if the two were ever apprehended.
