Police Officer JoAnn Liscombe succumbed to a gunshot wound sustained three days earlier while making a check on a suspicious person near the intersection of Patricia Ridge Drive and Old Halls Ferry Road at approximately 1:13 am. The subject who shot her was arrested, convicted of second-degree murder, and sentenced to life in prison. He was denied parole in 2023. His next parole hearing is in 2026. Officer Liscombe had served with the St. Louis County Police Department for 16 years.
