Incident
Police Officer Brad Schultz was killed in an automobile crash while en route to assist during a vehicle pursuit involving a stolen car.
He was traveling on Lilac Avenue when another vehicle attempted to turn off of Scenic Drive into his path. He attempted to avoid striking the vehicle by taking evasive action. His patrol car left the roadway, struck a utility police, and overturned before striking a vacant house and catching on fire. Officer Schultz was ejected from the vehicle and suffered fatal injuries.
Officer Schultz had served with the Riverview Police Department for four years and had previously served as a jailer with the Ferguson Police Department for three years.
Survivors
He is survived by his fiancee, parents, and brother.
