Incident

Deputy Scott Rogers suffered a fatal heart attack while participating in the department's physical fitness program.

After he failed to return home following his shift, another deputy was sent to check the training center and found him on the gym floor.

Deputy Rogers had served with the Clay County Sheriff's Department for 25 years.

Survivors

He is survived by his wife and two children.
