Incident
Trooper Charles Wood was killed in a motorcycle accident on M-29 near the St. Clair State Police Post at 7 pm. He was taking the motorcycle on a trial run. As he attempted to adjust the engine, he lost control and struck a culvert. Trooper Wood had served with the Michigan State Police for 2 1/2 years.

He was survived by his parents.
