Incident
Patrolman Cecil Spencer was killed in a motorcycle crash while pursuing a vehicle at 1:00 pm. The driver of the vehicle was suspected of stealing tires. During the pursuit another pickup truck turned in front of Patrolman Spencer at the intersection of West Warren Avenue and Kingsley Street, causing a collision. Patrolman Spencer had served with the Fordson Police Department for three years.

He was survived by his wife and two children.
