Officer George Hart succumbed to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident at the intersection of University Parkway and Charles Street almost two months earlier. He sustained a fractured skull and internal injuries when his police motorcycle collided with a vehicle. He was taken to Union Memorial Hospital where he remained until passing away. Officer Hart had been with the agency for one year.
