Incident
Assistant Chief Bobby Froreich was killed in a vehicle crash while responding to an emergency call. He was turning from Tournament Boulevard onto Louisiana 182 when his patrol car was struck by a dump truck loaded with sand. He was ejected from the vehicle upon impact and landed in a drainage ditch. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Assistant Chief Froreich had served with the Berwick Police Department for less than one year and had previously served with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office for 20 years.

He is survived by his wife and child.
