Incident
Patrolman Ernest Grillot was shot and killed when he surprised three bandits in their attempt to rob the Rocheblave branch of the Canal Bank & Trust Company. All three suspects, ages 19, 21, and 26, were arrested, convicted of murder, and sentenced to life in prison.
