Incident
Patrolman Delmar Whitworth was killed in an automobile crash while responding to a call on the Buechel Bypass south of Buechel Bank Road. The patrol car crossed the center median and struck another car head-on while he was transported an earlier crash victim to a hospital. Patrolman Whitworth had served with the Jefferson County Police Department for nine years.
Survivors
He was survived by his wife and six children.
