Incident

Deputy Sheriff Lester Reid was killed in a vehicle crash while on patrol during a winter storm near Bowling Green. Deputy Reid and another deputy were driving on U.S. 68 near the junction with the Green River Parkway when the patrol car skidded. A tractor-trailer tried to avoid the skidding patrol vehicle and struck the side of the car. Deputy Reid suffered life-ending injuries. The other deputy was transported to Bowling Green Hospital with minor injuries. Deputy Reid was a United States Army veteran and had served with the Warren County Sheriff's Department for three years.

Survivors

He was survived by his wife and two children.
