Incident

Village Marshal Patrick Reddington died as the result of a cut to his throat by a subject wielding a razor.

Marshal Reddington had gone to the man's home on Main Street in reference to a domestic disturbance at approximately 12:30 am. He was talking to a relative when the subject approached him from behind and cut his throat.

He attempted to walk to a local doctor's office but died before arriving.

The subject was arrested but was murdered in jail by another inmate.

Marshal Reddington had served with the Shannon Police Department for one year.

Village Marshall Reddington's story was read in Richton Park Police Department's roll call on 11-28-17 to remember and honor him.
