Officer Wade Feldner was shot and killed while investigating a stolen car at New Plymouth High School at 207 S Plymouth Avenue in New Plymouth. As he approached the vehicle around 2:00 a.m., one of the juvenile occupants shot him. The suspect, 14 years old, was apprehended and sentenced to 25 years to life. He was paroled in 2021. Officer Feldner served with the New Plymouth Police Department and previously served as a reserve officer. He was the agency's DARE officer and a volunteer firefighter.

Survivors

He was survived by his wife and four sons.
