Incident
Officer John Huihui suffered a fatal heart attack while he and two other officers attempted to arrest a man near the 900 block of 11th Avenue in the Kaimuki area.
The man assaulted a woman at her home at 918 12th Avenue. The man's husband alerted officers who rushed to the scene and located him nearby on 11th Avenue. Officer Huihui collapsed as they placed the man in custody.
Officer Huihui had served with the Honolulu Police Department for four years and was assigned as a bicycle patrol officer.
Survivors
He was survived by his wife and children.
