Incident
Police Officer Tomas Sablan was assisting in a search and recovery for a drowned person when he drowned in turbulent waters off Togcha Cove, Talofofo. He was diving at the time with another police officer. His body was recovered with the buoyancy vest inflated. Officer Sablan had served with the Guam Police Department for 11 years.
Survivors
He was survived by his wife, six sons, and four daughters.
