Incident

Investigator Richard Grant suffered a fatal heart attack while investigating a motor vehicle fatality at Highway 78 East and Mountain Industrial Boulevard in Tucker.

Investigator Grant collapsed and was transported to Emory Decatur Hospital, where he passed away.

Investigator Grant had served one year with the DeKalb County Medical Examiner's Office. He had previously served for 24 years with the Fulton County Sheriff's Office and Clayton County Sheriff's Office.

Survivors

He is survived by his wife and two sons.
