Incident

Policeman Pope was shot and killed by family members of a man he had arrested earlier in the day. The aunt and uncle of the man had requested to accompany Policeman Pope to the station in order to post bond for the man. While at the station in the Old City Hall the couple began to argue with Policeman Pope and woman pulled a small pistol and shot him. Policeman Pope was able to return fire fatally wounding the woman. The man then attempted to retrieve the pistol from his wife and Policeman Pope also shot and killed him.
