Incident
Officer John Marchbanks was struck and killed by a vehicle while directing traffic at the intersection of E. Flagler Street and Bayshore Drive. He was transported to River View Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries later that night.
Survivors
Officer Marchbanks had been with the agency for eight years and was survived by his son and daughter.
