Incident
Jailer Gustav Kaiser was shot and killed when an angry mob stormed the County Jail in Juno.
The mob stormed the jail to lynch the suspect in the murder of Deputy Rhett McGregor five days earlier.
The jail was located northeast of the modern-day intersection of Route 1 and PGA Boulevard.
Jailer Kaiser had only served with the Dade County Sheriff's Office for one month.
