Wife Lauren Levi
Biography
Kevin Levi joined the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office in 2004 and served nearly 16 years in the Patrol Operations Bureau. His wife Lauren said that when Kevin was little, he wanted to be Superman — so since that job was taken, he became a cop. He adored Lauren, their dogs, and his family above everything else. In his final months he had been diagnosed with PTSD and depression linked to the accumulated weight of his years on the force. He was an organ donor. Even in death, he was helping others. He was 42 years old. His wife Lauren fought publicly after his death to ensure that officers who carry the job home — and who are ultimately lost to it — receive the recognition and benefits they deserve.
