Michael Christopher Doane
Incident
Deputy Doane was killed as his cruiser hit two parked cars and struck a utility pole. He was responding to a backup call from another deputy who was in foot pursuit of suspect and had just been shot. Deputy Doane was transported to a local hospital where he remained on life support for 12 days until his family removed the life support system. The suspect was charged with attempted murder for shooting the deputy who pursued him on foot, and felonious assault for the death of Deputy Doane.
