Roy Ray Ferguson
Incident
U.S. Game Agent Roy Ferguson was killed in an airplane crash five miles southeast of Westhope, North Dakota.
He and the refuge manager of the Lower Souris National Wildlife Refuge were dropping "duck bombs" in an effort to move ducks off of farm fields and into the refuge. The had just dropped one of the devices and were circling back when the plane suddenly fell from the sky from an altitude of approximately 150 feet. Game Agent Ferguson and the refuge manager were both killed on impact.
Another game agent who was acting as their ground contact had just spoken to them by radio and witnesses the crash.
Agent Ferguson had served with the United States Fish and Wildlife Service for 12 years.
Survivors
He was survived by his wife, three children, mother, brother, and four sisters.
