Incident
Police Officer Timothy Duane succumbed to injuries sustained nine days earlier when he was struck by a vehicle.
He was directing traffic at the intersection of 10th Avenue and East 14th Street when he was struck the car. The impact threw him into the path of a second vehicle, which also struck him. He was transported to a Highland Hospital with a fractured skull and remained there until succumbing to the injuries.
Officer Duane had served with the Oakland Police Department for 20 years.
Survivors
He was survived by his three children and one grandchild.
