Incident
Officer Ralph Minion was killed in a motorcycle crash when his police motorcycle was struck head-on by another vehicle on Santa Fe Avenue, near Dominguez Street, in Carson. The other car was attempting to avoid rear-ending a slow moving truck when it swerved into Officer Minion's lane.
Survivors
Officer Minion was survived by his wife and three children.
