Incident

Officer Lonnie Garwood was killed in a motorcycle accident after pursuing speeders on Ventura Boulevard. After arresting the driver, Officer Garwood traveled back to his location at Washinton Boulevard. He was passing a truck at the same time another vehicle was passing a car coming from the opposite direction. He turned his motorcycle quickly to avoid a collision and was thrown to the round with the motorcycle landing on top of him. He was transported to the Receiving Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during surgery. Officer Garwood had served with the Culver City Police Department.

Survivors

He was survived by his wife and daughter.
