Incident

Deputy Sheriff Antranik Geuvjehizian was shot and killed while attempting to apprehend a prowler in a neighbor's yard on South Los Robles Avenue, near Allendale Road, in Pasadena, at approximately 9:30 pm. He was taking out his trash when he observed the man in the yard. As Deputy Geuvjehizian went to confront the man his wife called the police. The subject shot Deputy Geuvjehizian moments later. He was transported to a local hospital where he died in surgery at 4:30 am. Deputy Geuvjehizian had served with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department for 6-1/2 years and was assigned to the Court Services Bureau.

Survivors

He is survived by his wife, mother, two brothers, and sister.
