Biography
Gene was born and raised in Southern California, after college, he pursued his childhood dream of becoming a police officer and served with the Los Angeles Police Department for over 25 years. Gene worked a vast array of assignments until he found his calling as a Detective, he spent over 15 as a homicide detective. He was known for his tenacity, compassion, interrogation skills, organization, and willingness to train and mentor less seasoned detectives. Gene made a positive impact in the lives of people he worked with and came in contact with, including the families of the victims. Gene was universally liked and respected by his co-workers and was truly one of the good guys. A long-time coworker said, “If one of my family members was the victim of a murder, I would want Gene Parshall on the case. He treated all of his cases with focus and dedication that quite frankly is not commonly found amongst his peers. Most of his cases were solved, the suspects arrested, convicted in a court of law, and they were put in prison where they belong. He brought justice for the victims of the crimes he investigated and for their loved ones who remained. Gene was a great partner, but he was a better friend”. Gene was a strong and faithful follower of Jesus Christ and always lived to reflect God’s love. He was an incredible husband, father, son, friend, partner and a great detective. “He was gentle, kind, patient, even tempered, humble, selfless, and loving. He was my greatest example of love (1 Corinthians 13: 4-8) ” said his wife.
