Incident
Officer Brian Batchelder was killed at 11:30 pm when he was involved in a single-car accident. Officer Batchelder had apparently overcompensated when he went off the right side of the road, causing his patrol car to cross over and exit the roadway on the left side and strike a tree. Officer Batchelder had served with the Bentonville Police Department for one year.
Survivors
He is survived by his wife, six-week-old son, and father, who was a Bentonville Police Department detective.
