Incident
Officer Elmos Morgan was killed in an automobile crash while pursuing a speeding vehicle. He was ejected from his patrol car after it left the roadway and overturned. He was transported to Cherokee County Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The vehicle he was pursuing continued to flee. Officer Morgan was U.S. Army veteran of WWII and had served with the Cedar Bluff Police Department for 14 months.
Survivors
He was survived by his wife.
