Incident
Constable Broadhurst and a colleague were on patrol in Leeds when they checked a man in a car parked in Dib Lane. The car was found to be stolen and on false number plates. As they and a third officer attempted to arrest the suspect, he suddenly produced a handgun and fired several shots, hitting all three officers. PC Broadhurst was shot in the body and head and killed and a colleague was severely wounded.
