Incident
About 8:25pm, PC Cummings was travelling on the northbound carriageway of the M1 motorway to report for duty, prior to commencing a night shift at the Firearms Support Unit at Carr Gate ,West Yorkshire, when he suffered a ruptured aorta from which he subsequently died.
His car then collided with the central barrier as he approached the entrance slipway at junction 41.
Jack was a well loved and popular member of his team within the Firearms department.
He was originally from Bangor, Northern Ireland, and is survived by his parents and his partner.
