Incident
While off duty, PC Prior came across a road traffic collision on the A19 at Bagby, near Thirsk.
Having put herself back on duty to assist at the scene, Rosie was standing on the verge of the road, alongside the driver and passenger from one of the cars involved in the earlier accident when, at 8:55am, all three were struck by a heavy goods vehicle.
Rosie and the car driver died at the scene and the teenage passenger was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
PC Prior, who was a response officer based in York, joined North Yorkshire Police as a student officer in May 2022.
