Died in Arrowe Park Hospital, Birkenhead, from the injuries he sustained when, in the early hours, a stolen vehicle being pursued by police, mounted the central reservation of the A5139 Dock Road to evade capture and struck PC Phillips as he and a colleague attempted to stop the vehicle.
