Incident

Whilst patrolling the Upper Chorlton Road in the Old Trafford Division Constable Cook and his colleague saw a man enter a garden, believing him to be a burglar they split up. Constable Cook took hold the man who then fired two shots with a revolver, one of which struck Constable Cook. He was rushed to a local surgery but died shortly after.
