Incident

PC Snow left his home in Bennington soon after 10:00am to go on patrol at Whempstead Gate near Watton-At-Stone, but returned soon after 1:00pm having sustained a serious head wound and other injuries when he was assaulted after encountering and attempting to arrest a man for whom he had long held a warrant.

Benjamin died about 10:00pm that same day and left a wife and three children.
