Shot three times at point blank range and left to die as he attempted to arrest the armed driver of a suspect vehicle that he had pursued and subsequently stopped in Rosehill Road, in the Warberries area of Torquay.
Posthumously awarded the Queen’s Police Medal for Gallantry.
