Incident

Died in Queen’s Hospital, Birmingham, from the injuries he sustained five months earlier, on 11th April, when he was struck by a motorcycle while on duty in Villa Road, Handsworth.

Although Sergeant Taylor subsequently returned to duty following the accident he was re-admitted to hospital on 14th June, suffering from the injury to his neck.

Sergeant Taylor joined the force in 1901 and as a Constable he was attached to ‘D’ Division. On promotion to Sergeant, in 1914, he was posted to ‘C’ Division.

He was survived by his widow and their adopted daughter.
