Incident

Insp. McCombe was originally from Belfast and worked for the Royal Irish Constabulary. He came to Canada in 1925. Most of Insp. McCombe’s service was in Saskatchewan however he did have a posting in Charlottetown as well as Ottawa. Insp. McCombe received his commission in 1950. He died from exposure while on patrol near Cutknife, Saskatchewan. He had a wife, Annie and three sons. One of his sons, H. Barry McCombe joined the Force and retired as a staff sergeant in 1994.
