Son of Angus and Florence Jean Cameron, of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. After his training with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, he was posted to duty at the Justice Building in Rockcliffe. He volunteered with the Provost Corps and went overseas with the First Canadian Contingent in December 1939. Cst. Cameron had two brothers in the Canadian Army, one of which died a month before he did. At the time of his death, Cst. Cameron was engaged to be married. There is a street named after him in his honour. Trooper Gordon Angus Cameron was killed in action on November 9, 1943 while serving with the 4th Princess Louise Dragoon Guards.
